Short answer
Mastercard's Network Access and Brand Usage fee: a small per-transaction network fee charged on Mastercard authorizations.
NABU is a few cents or less per transaction, but at high transaction counts it adds up, especially for businesses with small average tickets. It’s one of several Mastercard network fees that show up as separate lines on an interchange-plus statement.
These fees are set by Mastercard and are not negotiable, but you can check they’re passed through at cost. See card network fees and our guide to interchange-plus pricing.
